Galveston weddings
Bride :  Brittany, what advice would you give future brides about wedding day ?
Enjoy every moment, as they come and don't rush through the day. Think about getting to the altar to your husband. It's the most magical day of your lives and you only get to do it once.

Groom : Thomas, what advise would you give future grooms for their wedding day ?
Always remember that she's been dreaming about this since she was born, enjoy it all because you don't get it back.

Any advise for those planning and wedding now ?
Hire a coordinator, even if it's month of. I am not saying that because your asking ( lol ! )
I am say it because you were a life saver and made  my day be exactly what I dreamed it to be. It was also worth not stressing about any thing.

Five tips for stretching your wedding design dollars

As we are starting the busy Spring wedding season, we get asked quite often about options for stretching  the design budget. Most clients hate to hear the B word, but the reality is every wedding has a budget, the trick  is investing in high profile areas and scaling back on others. So we though  it would be fun to share a few tips for making your moment ....reflect you two, your personal style AND stretch those dollars.

1. Fist up .....trim the guest list ( I know, I know its pain full) but I tell my clients frequently that adding guest is like bad algebra. Most people think in one dimension.... maybe food, drink- but it's a little more complicated. I give my clients a magic number - take your budget say it's 30K and divide by the amount of guest you will have say it's 150 the answer is $200.00 now that's what it cost for every guest to participate in your moment. That includes seeing you in your dress, eating a great meal,  that pretty little chavari chair- favor - slice of cake - and sparkler for your exit. ( and a few more things) Then decide if you like them enough to enjoy their company at a dinner ( alone ) for $200.00 ...paints a whole different picture right ?

2.  Splurge on high profile areas - head table, bridal party, sweet heart table.  Go big here ! Add those place cards, table numbers, stunning settings, and centerpieces. Scale back on guest tables - maybe candle arrangements, or smaller centerpieces.

3. Have an abbreviated bar, you have plenty of options - beer and wine, signature drinks,  and mid grade alcohol options work really well.

4. Lighting - let's just say it covers a multitude of sins.

5. Favors - yep, I said it ! Favors ....I can't tell you how many of those I box up or trash at the nights end,  trust me your guest won't really miss the magnet.

The Bryan Museum wedding inspiration

Hey Girls and guys !
D and F will tie the knot this spring on the stunning grounds of The Bryan Museum located on           Galveston island. D expressed that she loved the black and neutral color scheme with a pop of sparkle ( if you know me she's a girl after my own heart...if you don't I AM a lover of sparkly bobbles) After a bit of research I am totally inspired to create the look for their moment. Enjoy !

Galveston wedding planner behind the Moment

Behind the Moment:
When I started this business I honestly thought that wedding planners did EVERY thing, but boy did I quickly realize how untrue that was. Truth is a good planner is great at KNOWING who does what and well, and that's in combination with the details that she (he) manages daily. From budgets - time lines- schedules -room blocks - personal assistant- bridal party wrangler- confidant. Now ...on occasion some of us wear more hats because it just our gifting. I struggled to find my first paying clients, spent countless hours studying, developing procedures, and growing a team. If I knew then what I knew now I'm not sure if I would have jumped, but I have no regrets. Over the next few weeks I plan to pull back the veil on my team members so you can put a face with the group of ladies who make it work here. I have yet to arrive, but my prayer is that my gifts will continue to be stirred, and make room for me. To sum it up I am thankful for every Moment that I have been given the opportunity to collaborate on, thankful for family and friends alike who have stepped in to help a sister out, thankful for a husband who supports me even when he is over hearing about wedding details y'all, and my 3BG's because it's all for them and HECK yeah ..momma will get to plan those Moments too.

A new find on Galveston Island for intimate weddings

I had the opportunity to visit  a hidden island treasure via clients that I am midstream planning a 40th birthday celebration for. They insisted on great bites from Smooth Tony's Patio and Grill  (I had never heard of them). So I scheduled a meet and greet with the owner  Tony and I must say that I immediately fell in love with this spot.  From the second you step out  of your car, you do hear the smooth sounds of  local bands entertaining guest while they dine. It's setting is airy-fun- eclectic and just a little off the beaten path. You can hold private functions here from intimate weddings to rehearsal dinners it's a win win for the nontraditional. There just are not enough words to do this space justice so I will share a few of my favorite details. I hope that you have the chance to swing by Smooth Tony's enjoy and good bite and tap your toes to the smooth grooves. And  just maybe you will see me there too !
