Now that your engaged .....what's next ?

Congratulations on your engagement ! We know that your mind has been racing since your intended popped the question, and it's so hard to narrow down what's THE NEXT thing to do. Take a deep breath and know that the planning process is a journey, that will be filled with a mix of emotions and it's ok to take a few days off. Now let's get to the nitty gritty, of what's actually the next step. From experience we know that most brides select their gown or even a venue, but let's put a hard stop right there,  your first step is chatting with your intended, and your families about the wedding budget and who will contribute. We know, we know numbers right out the gate can sound stressful, but it's actually one of best things that your both can do. Did you know the average wedding budget is $34,000 ?
That is a lot of cash, and most people have not planned for that number so a conversation has to be had because EVERY decision you make is relative to that number. It dictates the venue that you can accommodate, guest count, the dress, florals and all the details that follow. Let's do a quick break out on numbers that cross my desk daily....

Venue on a Saturday night $4500.00
Security $210.00 ( x 2 )
Cake $800.00 + 75.00 for delivery
Full service caterer with bar tenders and linen $11,776.00 ( oh ! and that's a real number not a typo )
Entertainment : Strings $800.00
DJ $1650.00
Total : $ 20,021.00
I think you get the point here .....you can see that we have not added quite a few necessary vendors and we have almost topped out. We hope that this drives home how important a budget is for you in the planing process, this one thing can help you avoid loosing time visiting vendors who are not within your allocation, and over spending early and coming up short on the back end. So grab a glass of your favorite champagne,  pick of your favorite cheese cake and invite your parents over to show off your ring a little more and chat it up about the budget. There are ton's of resources to calculate your budget, and if those who need a bit more guidance we would love to see you in the office to talk in greater detail about your moment.  Congrats again !

Bryan Museum Wedding of J + S

I am always excited about sharing the details behind the moment. And it's helps when your bride has selected the island's hottest venue as her back drop.....the Bryan Museum never disappoints. J + S chose an intimate wedding celebration...our final guest count was 68, they tied the knot surrounded by their closest friends and family. Guest were invited in to the conservatory for surf and turf prepared by Chopin Mon Ami ( psssss. check them out if you are looking for great food! ) The day details were beautifully captured by Pedigo Photography and it's our pleasure to share them with you.

Galveston Wedding Planner wishes A + A a happy Anniversary !

We can't believe it's been a year since A + A tied the knot. AND how quickly things change in that amount of time. Before we get carried away, we wanted to take a moment to flash back over the details of their fall nuptials aboard The Tall ship Elissa. So many fun details to revisit,  pumpkin centerpieces, first looks, and the fun spin on unity. So grab a seat and lets take a peek.

Happy Anniversary J + R McKinney Cotton Mill Wedding

We can't believe it's been a year and This moment is still one for the books. J + R were tying the knot on Galveston island, with Ashton Villa as the back drop to their nuptials. One word ... two syllables would change EVERY thing ...seriously ....EVERY thing. Harvey. Majority of the guest would be flying into Houston driving to the island to celebrate, but flooded roads, closed airports combined with the state of emergency would change every thing. Faced with the decision to reschedule the wedding, or relocate, our bride J chose to relocate .....to Dallas.  That was a challenge that we accepted, and were determined to see it through. I reached out to a few planner friend girls and they assisted me to the finish line. We would have to plan a wedding in 7 days, new venue, DJ, hair, caterer ...you get the point, if you don't ..WE NEEDED EVERY THING ! I honestly had a few head to the desk days, not to mention my birthday was the evening before and my clients had no clue, and I wanted it that way. My focus was them getting married, and enjoying the moment surrounded by family and friends. Wedding day came, and it was AMAZING !! I really believe the space at McKinney Cotton Mill was perfect for my clients to celebrate. Now I know your ready to see the pretty, right? But first I have to shout out my girl McKenzie Baird Photography for the beautiful images.  Now, let's do it !

Bryan Museum Wedding of L + L Part 1

L would say that L had a serious face, a genuine smile, and the ability to make her laugh.  AND that's all you need to start a good love story. The vision for their moment would combine Texas and Lebanese culture into one festive evening. The couple chose two of the islands venues to celebrate, they would exchange vows and enjoy cocktail hour at The Bryan Museum. Then dance the night away under lights in the 1880 Garten Verein. I have to tell you that our vendor team was AMAZING!   AND we have so many great images to share that we needed to have a part 1 blog post.
Now, let's get the party started , part one gives you a little glimpse into the day right up until the point the newlyweds exchange vows.  That portion of the day would include the ladies getting dolled up in the bridal suite at the Bryan, and the fellas kicking back a few cold ones until first looks. L + L opted for a private first look, literally them, and the photographer.....it will go down as one of my favorite memories. ( AND the photo's will tell it all )  The guest were invited inside the conservatory to the sounds of a string quartet, where the brides uncle would perform the ceremony. On lookers would hear poems from the brides mom and the grooms cousin.....perfection.
