it's Almost done ...behind the Moment with your Galveston WeddingPlanner
A few weeks back we secured our meeting location on the island. We created and shared our vision board, and over the past few weeks it's developed in real time. From being frustrated because we could not find the perfect striped pattern to cover our chairs, to finding a bar cart that would be perfect for the space that we plan Moments. Thank you to all of my family, framily and supporters who picked up paint brushes, shopped with me, hung wall art, and sent text messages to check on the progress. Well ....this weekend we will finish off every detail and the officially will be officially DONE! ( insert sigh) we can't wait to share more with you but until then here is a teaser.

Gardens Houston wedding of C + J
I love sharing the images of my clients on their wedding day. I love the emotions that photos capture both aware and unaware. I met with Cecily a year prior to the wedding we chatted over coffee about the moment that she would marry Jeremiah, I walked away thinking I would love to collaborate with them. I waited impatiently for the "yes" your my planner call and I did receive it but it was months later....fast forward two months until show time Cecily wanted to hire me as her month of coordinator and I jumped in to map out the run to the altar. A lot of brides to be plan the details and realize as they approach the end that they need help pulling together the details, and don't want family or friends burdened with the responsibility. Well do we have a service for you.....Month of coordination is perfect to get the job done. We asked Cecily to share her planning experience with us (and you). Cecily said prior to hiring Moments that she was an emotional wreck and she did not know how she was going to manage the final stages of the wedding planning between work, moving and life so she decided to give us a ring to find out more about our month of coordination services. The coordination made her feel stress free even though she still had the normal pre-wedding jitters, "I knew that every detail would be like I wanted it and that vendors would be on time". She also says for all of those brides debating the yes or no's of hiring a wedding planner " just do it , it's worth every penny. Your paying for your sanity, and during the wedding , your sanity is the most important thing to keep". Our Month of services were perfect for Cecily and Jeremiah's Moment so with out further a due here are a few of my favorites........I had a GREAT time with Cecily and Jeremiah and I miss our daily text about the details we must do lunch soon , I wish you two LOVE and Grace in this thing called marriage.

Managing GREAT expectations
As a planner I wear many hats, one of them is a manager of expectations. Brides are so excited about planning such a monumental event in their lives the dress, the cake, the flowers, and all of the details surrounding the moment they say " I Do" that sometimes they don't balance the dream and the pocket book. It's a mix of a few things excitement, inspiration, and sometimes plain old not knowing. For example :I received this recent inquiry " I am planning a beach wedding, my guest count is 100, I want my guest to remember how beautiful every thing was. I need a planner to help pull it all together, and realistic event budget is 2,000.00". Two thousand dollars is nothing to sneeze at but the reality here is her expectation and pocket book are a little out of sync. Am I saying she can't have a beautiful wedding....no! But I am saying she needs to step back and evaluate if this can really happen within the budget allocation she has. There are a few things that can be done here, but I would definitely suggest consulting with a professional event planner ( most offer this service ) prior to jumping in hands and feet first only to find out this can't be done exactly as she has envisioned. They will be knowledgeable in budget allocation, vendor referral and managing your expectations. I would have a few suggestions here first things first trim the guest list to 20, select a mid-week wedding, and a cocktail reception(no alcohol )Yep! Just that quickly we planners can solve SOME problems. We are not magic fairies but our goal is to be the gentle guide during the planning process. So come with open ears and a balanced check book. What ever your vision is for your wedding remember its all about balance. Enjoy the process ! And I know your thinking...could she really do this? Thursday beach venue rental $375.00/ single layer cake $65.00/DIY invitations $45.00/flowers $185.00/DIY decor $30.00(3)/ attire $450.00/ linen rentals $80.00/photos 3 hours at $300.00/appetizers 20.00(20)$400.00 = $1,990.00 Ka Ching !
