It's wedding Wednesday and we are excited to share 5 reasons why you should choose a first look.

The tradition of not seeing each other prior to the wedding was born during the days of arranged marriages, and slowly changed into " bad luck"  for the couple to see each other prior to the ceremony ( with an emphasis on the groom changing his mind ) BUT lately this tradition has been passed over by brides and groom's who wanted to marry to the beat of their own drum AND we love it !  Now that we have heard the history of why not .....let's chat it up about WHY to ( LOL ! )

1. You get to see each other at the start of the day when your face is freshly beat, and your fashion is at it's peek .

3. It provides the opportunity to talk through the nervousness of the day.

Doyle Convention Wedding of N + D

This weekend N + D tied the knot  in their home town of Texas City. ( mine too)

The bride processed down the aisle to Cannon in D played by a mariachi.  It was simply a sweet moment ! From there guest were greeted with margaritas and the lively sounds of the mariachi through out cocktail hour. The bride selected the color palette of green, cream and gold. It was absolutely PERFECT! We don't want to spill all of the beans, so we will save those until all of the wedding day portfolio arrives. Until then let's drool over the sneak peeks !

Happy Anniversary J + R McKinney Cotton Mill Wedding

We can't believe it's been a year and This moment is still one for the books. J + R were tying the knot on Galveston island, with Ashton Villa as the back drop to their nuptials. One word ... two syllables would change EVERY thing ...seriously ....EVERY thing. Harvey. Majority of the guest would be flying into Houston driving to the island to celebrate, but flooded roads, closed airports combined with the state of emergency would change every thing. Faced with the decision to reschedule the wedding, or relocate, our bride J chose to relocate .....to Dallas.  That was a challenge that we accepted, and were determined to see it through. I reached out to a few planner friend girls and they assisted me to the finish line. We would have to plan a wedding in 7 days, new venue, DJ, hair, caterer ...you get the point, if you don't ..WE NEEDED EVERY THING ! I honestly had a few head to the desk days, not to mention my birthday was the evening before and my clients had no clue, and I wanted it that way. My focus was them getting married, and enjoying the moment surrounded by family and friends. Wedding day came, and it was AMAZING !! I really believe the space at McKinney Cotton Mill was perfect for my clients to celebrate. Now I know your ready to see the pretty, right? Bryan Museum Galveston Wedding of L + L

Fourth of July party inspiration

Last July we had the opportunity to plan Peter's 50th birthday celebration. I can't event imagine sharing your birthday with a national holiday like "The fourth of July",   kind of a  mixed bag ....you always get fire works for your birthday, but your family is always celebrating the holiday with the typical "holiday " festivities. Never the less, the red white and blue color palette is and unforgettable one. So this week as your on the count down to the " Fourth of July " here is a little  decor inspiration to celebrate the moment. 

Gartein Verein Wedding of K + B

We love the details behind every moment that we have had the ability to collaborate on, and K + B's moment at the Gartein Verein was no different. Who would have thought that a chance meeting between two neighbors would lead to love. The couple selected the islands historic Gartein Verein simply because it was beautiful space on the island. They filled the space with decor items inspired by Disneyland ( the details included fast pass seating, tables named after rides,  signature drinks, and even included a unique hashtag #Billandkimsadventure. The couple chose to exchange vows literally  in a circle surrounded by family and friends, it was symbolic of the support they had given the newly weds.....  LOVE !  The professional images  from C.
