Engagement season has almost ended and our mail box has been filled with inquiries from the newly engaged, seeking information on " Day of coordination" vs. Event Management. This topic has caused quite a few debates in the industry....over all we have failed to educate brides properly. The title alone sums up where the confusion begins ..."Day of" ladies ( and gentlemen) NO planner is EVER available to wake up and walk into your reception space, church, hotel room on wedding day and be fully in the know of what's about to go down. (unless she's packing a wand and pixie dust...and in that case I want her as my new BFF ) In my minds eye there is a newbie planner with a check list interviewing a bride during hair and make up and It's NOT PRETTY as they both realize it's a huge undertaking. Minimally event management is what we should be continually sharing with our new inquiries, this time allows for contract review, the opportunity to create a customized time line filled with your details, schedule a site walk through, see you face to face a few times, attend your final dress fitting, create check list, attend rehearsal and finally coordinate your day. BIG difference right! It helps when we are fully vested with your MOMENT. SOooooo ladies and gentlemen as your reaching out to planners please keep in mind that our goal is that your celebration is flawless and remember it takes time in order for this to happen ...but you will reap the benefits of hiring a professional. Congratulations and happy planning !

What we love about weddings by Galveston Wedding Planner
Now you guys and girls all know we love every thing wedding, BUT truth be told we do have a few FAVORITE things that happen on wedding day. We have tried to nail down exactly what it is about those moments that make us gush with joy, or literally ugly cry happy tears. Now we know that your wracking your brain to figure out exactly what they are ...so let's get to it !
1. We love when the bride is getting dressed, and just over her shoulder her is mom beaming with pride, sharing last minute marriage wisdom, and her heart for her daughters future.
2. When the bride puts on the dress, and the fairytale day beings.
3. We absolutely swoon when we see all the details that we have planned for months come together and are just the perfect match.
4. Our favorite thing is just before the bride walks down the aisle, and she is just outside the church doors with her father ( insert real ugly tears here) we have been privileged to some sweet and intimate conversations that we will for ever hold close.
5. AND when we see a packed dance floor filled with generations dancing to the beat......their is nothing like it !

Bryan Museum Wedding of L + L Part 1
L would say that L had a serious face, a genuine smile, and the ability to make her laugh. AND that's all you need to start a good love story. The vision for their moment would combine Texas and Lebanese culture into one festive evening. The couple chose two of the islands venues to celebrate, they would exchange vows and enjoy cocktail hour at The Bryan Museum. Then dance the night away under lights in the 1880 Garten Verein. I have to tell you that our vendor team was AMAZING! AND we have so many great images to share that we needed to have a part 1 blog post.
Now, let's get the party started , part one gives you a little glimpse into the day right up until the point the newlyweds exchange vows. That portion of the day would include the ladies getting dolled up in the bridal suite at the Bryan, and the fellas kicking back a few cold ones until first looks. L + L opted for a private first look, literally them, and the photographer.....it will go down as one of my favorite memories. ( AND the photo's will tell it all ) The guest were invited inside the conservatory to the sounds of a string quartet, where the brides uncle would perform the ceremony. On lookers would hear poems from the brides mom and the grooms cousin.....perfection.

Hotel Galvez wedding of S + R
Shelly and Ryan grew up in the same church as kids, so they were familiar with each other but never really connected. That is, until years later when mutual friends would plan group outings that sparks began to fly. The newly weds chose the Hotel Galvez as the backdrop to their moment, it's ocean front view, beautifully manicured lawn, and it's just plain classic historical Galveston made that decision easy. Shelly and Ryan exchanged vows in the Oleander Gardens, with family and friends looking on as they pledged a life time of love, and memories. Guest were invited for cocktails, and the newlyweds headed over to the beach to take a few photos at sun set.....just wait until you see them. Guest were invited to dinner, and danced the night away to the island's own Mambo Jazz Kings. As Shelly and Ryan exited the hotel they were showered with mini four leaf clover confetti ( to celebrate St. Patricks day ). We have a great team of vendors, that made the collaboration work. THANKS TO YOU ALL ! Now ....let's get to the pretty P.s. Mariam Khalili for the images

Galveston Wedding Planner highlights Ashton Villa
I can remember being a kid, and hearing all of the stories of the mansion being haunted, and trying my best to avoid the space. Never knowing that I would eventually spend hours with brides and their families creating memories that will last a life time. This venue holds tons of the islands history, including being the first mansion built on the island, and one of the island first brick residences. The home owners were known for hosting grand celebrations, and I am sure they would be pleased to know that even now it's the backdrop to countless celebrations. Now here is the 411, the space can accommodate 175 guest comfortably with a dance floor, you can use the the vendors who best fit your needs, if you see your self getting married out side, the stunning grounds combined with Helen's garden are perfect ! Want to know more ? Give Lauraleigh a buzz, and be sure to tell her we sent you ! Now here is the pretty !
