Day of coordination Vs. Event Management

Engagement season has almost ended and our mail box has been filled with inquiries from the newly engaged, seeking information on " Day of coordination" vs. Event Management. This topic has caused quite a few debates in the industry....over all we have failed to educate brides properly. The title alone sums up where the confusion begins ..."Day of" ladies ( and gentlemen) NO planner is EVER available to wake up and walk into your reception space, church, hotel room on wedding day and be fully in the know of what's about to go down. (unless she's packing a wand and pixie dust...and in that case I want her as my new BFF ) In my minds eye there is a newbie planner with a check list interviewing a bride during hair and make up and It's NOT PRETTY as they both realize it's a huge undertaking. Minimally event management is what we should be continually sharing with our new inquiries, this time allows for contract review, the opportunity to create a customized time line filled with your details, schedule a site walk through, see you face to face a few times, attend your final dress fitting, create check list, attend rehearsal and finally coordinate your day. BIG difference right! It helps when we are fully vested with your MOMENT. SOooooo ladies  and gentlemen as your reaching out to planners please keep in mind that our goal is that your celebration is flawless and remember it takes time in order for this to happen ...but you will reap the benefits of hiring a professional. Congratulations and happy planning !

Doyle Convention Wedding of N + D

This weekend N + D tied the knot  in their home town of Texas City. ( mine too)
The bride processed down the aisle to Cannon in D played by a mariachi.  It was simply a sweet moment ! From there guest were greeted with margaritas and the lively sounds of the mariachi through out cocktail hour. The bride selected the color palette of green, cream and gold. It was absolutely PERFECT! We don't want to spill all of the beans, so we will save those until all of the wedding day portfolio arrives. Until then let's drool over the sneak peeks !
Shout out to Clear Shutter Photography for the images

7 F Lodge Real wedding of J + G

I can't believe it been a year since J + G tied the knot in on the beautiful grounds of the 7f Lodge. Today we wanted to revisit their details behind the moment and wish them a happy 1st anniversary. We reached out to the newly weds to see how they remember the details now. Early on J made a vow to herself to not let wedding planning ( overly stress her out, the main focus was that two people who loved each other were getting married, surrounded by family and friends. Every thing else was secondary. Looking back over the first year, we love all the photos of family members, and the first dance that was completely improvised. The couple's maid theme was rustic romance, combined with pops of lavender. Enough about the behind the scenes ...We wanted to say continue to love, cherish and honor one another  for may years to come. Happy Anniversary!

Lyceum Wedding of S + S

This weekend could not have been  any better, the weather was breezy, the sun shine was perfect
as S + S exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends. The bride selected every detail from the deep sangria tones,  and lush greens, such a beautiful combination for their Moment on the island. We worked with an amazing group of vendors and we will be shouting them all out soon, until then here  is the non-pro sneak peek. Enjoy !
